Are boom lifts the same as cherry pickers?

Boom lifts and cherry pickers are similar but not identical: boom lifts typically have greater reach than cherry pickers. Cherry pickers are often smaller units, and either trailer or truck mounted, while boom lifts have tyres and are self-propelled.
