We have excavators to hire from the major manufacturers including Kubota, JCB, Hitachi, Volvo and more. Different sizes will be required for different sites and demands.  

Mini Digger Hire

Micro and mini diggers are great for smaller sites where manoeuvrability is a consideration. They’re ideal for work on gardens or residential areas, for example, as well as other smaller sites.   They are typically 0.8 tonne, 1.5 tonne or 2.5 tonne to be classed as a micro or mini digger. Our range includes the Volvo ECR 25 D Compact Excavator, as well as the surprisingly powerful Kubota KX016-4, as just a couple of examples. Mini diggers are particularly good for powerful excavating where the site demands a compact solution.

Medium Excavators

We have a range of excavator hires available for medium sites, including 5 to 8 tonne vehicles. These are excellent for medium sites that require a powerful digging solution but still benefit from a more compact design.   Medium-sized excavators are often much more versatile than their larger counterparts. For example, our 5 tonne excavator has a range of attachments including pallet forks, post boring and a sorting grab, among others.  

Large Excavators

Mini or medium excavators may not be suitable if you have a large site with bigger areas that need excavating. A large excavator, available up to 30 tonne, will provide the most efficient solution for large scale digging requirements.   Our larger excavators include features that reduce seat vibrations, large LCD screens to improve vision in bright sunlight or darkness, power boost technology and dust-proof filters.  

Attachments

You have a task you want your excavator to do. How it completes that task is often made easier by the attachments you use. If you have a specific attachment requirement for your hired plant, tell us what you need and we will ensure your digger comes ready for the job. Do I Need Excavator Insurance?

Yes, excavators and hired plant from PAL Hire require the correct insurance in place. When hiring out excavators, we do look for £250,000.00 ‘Hired in Plant’ as a minimum, and check all insurance policies as a matter of process to protect against fraud. Excavator insurance could already be within your business insurance (not public liability insurance or car insurance). It will have ‘Hired in Plant’ and an amount that the insurance covers. It may also detail the cost of cover per item. You need to ensure that the amount covered is equal to the replacement value of your excavator hire. f your insurance does not have ‘Hired in Plant’ cover, you can call your insurance broker and get the cover put on your business insurance, or you can opt to insure your excavator directly through us.

Hire Guard: Excavator Insurance

We have a product called ‘Hire Guard’ which will cover the hired in plant for the duration of your hire with us at an extremely agreeable rate. Just specify if you require this when you are completing your form and we will give you a quote to cover your excavator hire from PAL Hire.

Fuel for Hired Excavators

If you don’t have a fuel supply already set up, we can provide fuel for your excavator or mini digger. Just mention this on the contact form or when you give us a call for your quote. Our fuel rates are highly competitive.

What is the Process of Hired In Plant?

You will probably know the machine you wish to hire – if not, browse the selection of plant hire we have available. If you can’t see what you need, simply call our team and we’ll find a solution. With the largest UK network of equipment depots, we can access almost any plant machinery and equipment, including mini diggers, excavators and more. Simply complete our online form and we can support you with finding the right solutions. We need:

• Your name
• Company name
• Telephone and email
• Some details about what, why and where (Include the Postcode - this helps with getting the best rate for delivery and collections when you off hire and we need to collect the plant)

The form will also ask you what you need to hire. You can just type the excavator, plant and/or correct attachments in there.

Payment and Delivery

There will be a deposit/first hire payment to be made (unless you are an account customer). Once we have received your funds, you will be asked to complete an online delivery survey. This will provide us with all the nitty-gritty to get the equipment on site. We need to know as much as possible so we can get your excavator to you and working as soon as possible.

When Will Delivery Be For My Excavator Hire?

Our aim is to support you by delivering your excavator hire at the most suitable time. If we can, we will get most excavators on site the same day, or the next day at the very latest. You can also schedule equipment to be on site as part of a phased delivery - which can be operationally controlled by our support team.
